1) Overview
This Delete Account Policy explains what happens when you request deletion of your Zawd account, what information we delete, and what information we may retain for legal, financial, and security purposes.
2) How to Request Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your Zawd account using one of the following methods:
- In-app (recommended): Go to
Settings → Account → Delete Accountand follow the instructions. - By email: Send a request to support@zawed.sy from the email/phone number associated with your account.
To protect your account, we may ask you to verify ownership (for example, by confirming a one-time code or account details).
3) What We Delete When You Delete Your Account
Once your deletion request is confirmed, we delete or permanently anonymize (where applicable) the following data associated with your account:
A) Account and Profile Data
- Name
- Phone number and/or email address (if provided)
- Profile photo (if provided)
- Gender and date of birth (if provided)
- Saved primary location (if provided)
- Any other profile fields linked to your account
B) Service and Activity Data
- Orders you created and related order details
- Bids/offers you created or received
- Delivery/provider application data and related profile data (if you applied as a provider)
- Location records related to service usage (where stored)
- Support tickets and conversations (where stored)
C) Notifications
- Notifications linked to your account
4) What We Keep (Financial Transactions)
Even after deleting your account, we keep a copy of financial transaction records on our servers for accounting, auditing, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and other financial obligations.
This retained information may include:
- Payment/transaction amounts
- Dates and times of transactions
- Transaction references/receipts
- Refund/chargeback records (if any)
- Subscription payment records (if applicable)
We retain this data only for as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting, and regulatory requirements and to protect our legitimate business interests.
Important: Retained financial records are stored securely and are not used for marketing.
5) What Happens After Deletion
- Your account will no longer be accessible.
- You will not be able to log in or use services that require an account.
- You may need to create a new account if you want to use Zawd again in the future.
6) Deletion Timeframe
We aim to complete account deletion within a reasonable timeframe after confirming your request. In some cases, deletion may take longer due to security checks, legal requirements, or technical constraints (such as backup retention cycles).
7) Backups and System Logs
For safety and reliability, some information may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before it is automatically overwritten. We also may keep minimal security logs (e.g., anti-fraud and abuse-prevention logs) for a limited time.
8) Exceptions (When We May Refuse or Delay Deletion)
We may delay or refuse deletion requests in limited cases, such as:
- Ongoing disputes, fraud investigations, or abuse prevention actions
- Outstanding payments, chargebacks, or financial reconciliation needs
- Legal requirements to keep certain data
